1) Lighting Supervisor
The Lighting Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of lighting artists to create direct and reflecting lighting and shadows that meet creative direction and has shared accountability for the management and deliverables of the lighting department. The incumbent will serve as the creative and technical lead in incorporating existing designs, new designs and creating lighting of graphic character objects, scene images and effects for designated sequences.
The incumbent is also responsible for the films style, lighting design, implementation and textural look of the movie. The incumbent will consult within the team of the Production Designer, Art Director, CG Supervisor, VFX Supervisor, Modeling Supervisor and Producers regarding implementing design ideas technically through software and methodology. He/she will oversee the lighting team ensuring consistency and quality through technical workflows. More directly, the Lighting Supervisor will report to and collaborate with the VFX Supervisor.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Regularly interacting with the Producer, Director, and Production Designer to understand desired look as it relates to lighting for the production.
* Ensuring the rendering of assigned characters and sequences.
* Delivering final shots to production and ensuring final technical check is complete.
* Tracking lighting continuity within sequences.
* Accountable for on-time, on-budget execution and delivery, as well as quality of required lighting for the sequence.
* Translating specific operating plans into assignments and deliverables for the lighting team.
* Participating in estimating resource requirements, budgets, schedules and performance standards.
* Monitoring and adjusting daily assignments and priorities.
* Ensuring that the lighting team has sufficient guidelines for art / technology and related tools to meet the plan.
* Ensuring the training and mentoring of direct reports.
* Conducting performance reviews and providing immediate performance feedback.
* Creating and executing detailed work plans to attain creative / technical / business / productivity objectives.
* Participating in establishing the production’s short-term objectives.
* Collaborating across departments to resolve persistent technical or content-based problems.
* Interacting with subordinates, peers and/or managers in other departments on issues of production plans and tactical procedures.

Qualifications
* Expert knowledge of Maya, and various render software. Expert knowledge of shaders and shader development.
* Expert knowledge of Nuke (preferred) or Shake and compositing experience required.
* Mental Ray and RenderMan experience in a production environment preferred
* Expert knowledge of lighting rig setup and shot specific lighting tools within Maya, with experience setting up advanced lighting.
* 7-10 years of experience with 2 or more years of lead / supervisory experience.
* Prior experience of CG output to film required.
* Knowledge of UNIX/Linux, procedural and object-oriented programming languages is an asset.
* Must have thorough knowledge of colour theory and lighting techniques.
* Demonstrated ability in making aesthetic judgement calls.
* Degree in Fine Arts, computer science, or equivalent work experience.

2) CG Supervisor
The CG Supervisor is responsible for the technical and aesthetic aspects of the film, and will liaise with the creative and technical support teams to ensure appropriate quality is attained within the budget and schedule.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Assess the technical content of the film script from premise to final draft.
* Ensure that the highest quality of film is being achieved within allotted budget and schedule.
* Supervise the technical team leads, providing clear direction and leadership.
* Advise and support the Director to ensure that the highest quality of animation is being achieved within the schedule.
* Work with the Director of Technology to ensure that the production is produced within the protocols and procedures of the studios production pipeline.
* Collaborate with production management to ensure the technical and creative team is meeting schedule and quota goals on a weekly basis.
* Communicate any concerns pro-actively to the Line Producer and or Director of Technology.
* Proactively communicate with all departments to ensure that everyone is aware of new tools, processes and procedures for the production.
* Facilitate technical aspects of animation production (Includes rigging, animation, lighting, FX).
* Technically interpret the directors vision to the team.
* Hold regular production meetings.
* Determine the most efficient way to expedite the production of the show.
* Help determine and schedule resource requirements with representatives of Production, Technical and Software Departments.
* Responsible for developing a strong, flexible CG pipeline. This includes developing, maintaining (or approving) CG techniques.
* Provide additional technical support and training to production teams as needed.
* Interact with the IT staff with respect to operating, file, and network systems issues.
* Evaluate and recommend relevant external shaders/plugins/scripts.
* Interact with commercial vendors with respect to technical issues affecting proprietary tools, etc.
* Maintain contacts with academia/industry to keep current on new research and competitor developments.
* Read relevant journal/conference/technical articles.
* Acquire and maintain up-to-date knowledge in the relevant fields.

3) Designer
To help design the film’s remaining props, vehicles, set elements and character turnarounds taking into account styles, direction, and guidance established by the original Production Designer, the Art Director, VFX Supervisor and Director.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Create strong designs consistent with the show’s look and feel.
* Utilize previous design experience to design items/elements which hit the quality bar, and vision of the original production designer, and the goals of the production.
* Note feedback and revise designs as defined by the productions Art Director as necessary.
* Research visual reference material to inform designs.
* Liaise with the film’s modeling/surfacing department and modeling supervisor to realize designs for 3D creation.
* Stay up to date with Pre-Viz developments and the shaping of the shots/sequences, noting and discussing issues.
* Create 2D drawings and concepts required to demonstrate to modeling how to build 3D assets; props, vehicles, occasionally sets and character elements.
* Communicate regularly and proactively with the design team, modeling team, and FX team to ensure that designs are production-friendly
* Raise potential design issues with the Modeling, FX and Animation departments
* Meet or beat design deadlines
* Proactively update the Art Director/VFX Supervisor as the to status of tasks
* Review one’s own schedule and notify production of any tasks that may be missing or improperly specified.
Qualifications
* 5+ years in graphic design / set design
* BA/BFA Degree in Fine Arts or Commercial Arts Field an asset
* Must have strong 2-D set/location/background design experience
* Must have worked on at least 3 productions (feature preferred)
* A strong understanding of design and the issues inherent in creating compelling set designs for a 3D production
* 3-D design and modeling experience an asset.
* Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and multi-tasking skills.
* Proven abilities in managing projects from concept to completion.
