Call for artists from Inaas Kiryakos of Canteen Art Shop and Gallery in Ottawa
This May we’re hosting an art show themed 99 Red Balloons. We’re inviting 99 artists to create an original 9″x9″ piece that will be sold for either your choice of $99 or $66 (99 upside down) dollars. As long as you stick to the theme, the concept is completely open to you.
– show opens May 14, 2010 and runs til May 31st
– all artwork needs to be at Canteen no later than April 30, 2010 (Friday)
– we’re asking each artist to submit 1 piece
– artwork must be 9″ x 9″
– medium is completely up to the artist
– artwork needs to arrive ready to hang. works on paper MUST be framed and ready to hang

If you haven’t been to Canteen yet, you’re missing out. Inaas has stocked the place with an amazing selection of design, art and even some animation books. She’s got a great eye for this stuff and is a VERY welcoem addition to the Ottawa cultural scene.

While I am not a painter, your theme of 99 red balloons interests me. Check page 3 of my Etsy on-line shop and you will see three models of wicker hot-air balloons I have made. Perhaps the samllest of these could be a part of your exhibition and sale.
