It’s troubling that Canadian Animation History apparently ends with Nelvana in the 1980’s… anything interesting happen in the last THIRTY years guys?
Actually we recorded about 20 minutes of me rambling at high speed about everything i could think of off the top of my head including Canadian indy animators and computer animation software developers , special effects etc etc
but this is just what made it into this little sketch. I also tried to fill in some gaps with the doodles and scribbles.
But the show itself was not about animation per se, but about Canadians influencing pop culture and American culture. I think it’s pretty clearly implied that this isn’t everything, it’s just a smattering of examples of our roots.
Maybe someone will make a comprehensive documentary of the Canadian Animation scene someday. That would be interesting.
