Guru studio, the award winning and internationally renowned animation facility in Toronto is looking for a Texture Artist/Modeler. The ideal candidate will have the ability to interpret 2D character, set and prop designs efficiently and accurately in 3D, and create texture and UV maps with good use of space and minimal texture distortion, for an upcoming video game inspired show geared towards teenagers.

Requirements/Skills:

  • The ability to interpret 2D set and prop designs efficiently and accurately in 3D
  • Create Textures and UV maps with good use of space and minimal texture distortion
  • Create Color, Normal & Specular map textures to the appropriate style and standard

Qualities and Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a Texture Artist/3D Modeler in a gaming pipeline
  • Knowledge in using Maya, Photoshop, Body Paint, and zBrush
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with team members, related departments and clients
  • Strong 2D Skills
  • Related college degree desired
  • Fun, trustworthy and chill

Portfolio and Requirements

  • Must contain a detailed shot breakdown of the work
  • Must include a description of responsibilities represented in the demo reel
  • Include descriptions of which software used (Maya, 3DS Max/Photoshop, etc.)
  • UV layout & final shaders composed for designs
