It’s been a good long time since I’ve written any more “Challenge of Animation” posts, but that doesn’t mean I can’t add some pieces to the puzzle. Cartoon Brew posted yesterday a short bit about new markets, so I’m going to link to it here.
The main point of the piece is just that, it’s an interesting time to be an animator, and moreso, an animated film-maker. There are markets for animation that simply didn’t exist a decade ago. The counterpoint to this being that the budgets are generally pretty pathetic.
The comments are definitely worth reading too. Particularly that of Mike Rauch of the Rauch Brothers. Out of respect for the Brewmasters, I’m not going to copy the post here, you’re going to have to make your way over to their site to read it, but I urge you to do so.
