House of Cool, an outstanding full service animation studio that specializes in preproduction for feature film and television is seeking talented Junior Storyboard Artists to add to our roster.
Position Overview
As a Junior Story Artist you will help visualize written scripts and develop story ideas for major animated film and television projects. Working along side a team of creative story masters you will have the opportunity to be mentored in the art of storyboarding and will receive valuable direction in taking your natural drawing and storytelling abilities to the next level.
Responsibilities
• Draw storyboards that depict emotion, action, pacing, mood, staging, cinematography and strong character performances
• Clean Up, revise and polish existing boards
• Visualize and interpret written scripts and verbal descriptions from the director and head of story
• Hone, refine, delete, or create dialog where needed
• Engage with creative team to brainstorm story ideas that will enhance the overall production of the project
• Produce high quality work while adhering to strict deadlines
Requirements
• Some experience in storyboard production is a bonus
• Excellent drawing skills
• Dynamic storytelling and outstanding character performance abilities
• Strong layout and design skills
• Knowledge of Photoshop, Storyboard Pro or Sketchbook Pro
• Relevant Post-Secondary Education is an asset
