Summary:
Stellar Creative Lab is looking for a Modeling Artists to join our CG Feature team at our new facility in Vancouver.
With several years of experience in asset design and modeling, the role of a Modeling Artist requires an eye for detail in character design, an understanding of form and animation, as well as an excellent understanding of Maya modeling tools.
What We Need:
- Experience working from production designs to create a variety of assets, with an emphasis on human and animal models.
- Critical analysis of pre-viz and production designs to create beautifully designed and optimized assets at a CG feature quality level.
- Hands-on experience and deep knowledge of Maya tools.
- A team player who works well with supervisors and team leads to create a great work environment.
- Passion and drive to raise modeling standards to the highest creative and technical level possible.
Your Main Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create feature quality assets with an emphasis on animal and human forms, but also environments, props and vehicles depending on the production requirements.
- Self motivated, deadline and task driven to meet team and production deadlines.
- Attend team, departmental or production meetings and screenings as necessary.
- Work closely with other teams to troubleshoot and solve potential problems early in the pipeline.
Your Experience, Talents and Abilities:
- 2+years minimum, 3+ years experience creating assets and modeling in Maya.
- Flexible, outside-the-box design thinking.
- A keen eye for colour, light, form, shape and texture.
- Learning-centered attitude and passion about strong design and technical execution.
- Eligible to work in B.C.
