HEADSPINNER PRODUCTIONS SPINS ONTO the SCENE WITH THREE NEW PROJECTS
TORONTO, ON, April 17, 2018– Industry veterans Michelle Melanson and Ken Cuperus have joined creative forces to launch HEADSPINNER PRODUCTIONS, a full-service development and production company based in Toronto, Canada.
Emmy nominated and multi award winning creators and producers, Melanson (Stella and Sam, Yup Yups) and Cuperus (Stargate: Atlantis, The Listener) bring a creator driven approach to the international content industry.
Most recently Melanson was President of Radical Sheep Productions, where she developed and produced such hits as The Next Step, Fangbone!, The Bagel and Becky Show and Tee & Mo.
Cuperus, a writer, creator and showrunner, has recent credits on Frankie Drake and Carter. He also co-created and was showrunner on the YTV hit The Stanley Dynamic which ran for 52 episodes.
Currently, Headspinner has three shows in active development. Cabin 51, a family event drama series, and Made in China, a dramedy about international adoption based on their own family. Both projects are in development with Canadian broadcasters and seeking international partners. Also in development, a teen single camera sitcom with a prominent US broadcaster.

MICHELLE MELANSON-BIO
Emmy Nominated, Michelle has over 25 years experience in the production business with hundreds of episodes produced and over 50 awards and nominations. Most recently Michelle was President of Radical Sheep Productions, executive producing such shows as the worldwide hit The Next Step, as well as Fangbone!, The Bagel & Becky Show, Tee & Mo, Stella and Sam, The Yup Yups and Ollie The Boy Who Became What He Ate. Michelle has won the Canadian Screen award, the Grand Prize of the Youth Media Alliance, mulitiple Kidscreen Awards and Cynopsis Awards. She also has a Juno Award for producing the Stella and Sam Album.
Michelle is also the Founder of Women Drawn Together-a free organization that fosters learning, networking and mentorship for Women in the Animation community. In the past four years, the group has grown to 5 cities and over 1000 members.
KEN CUPERUS Bio
Ken Cuperus is an Emmy nominated writer/producer/showrunner with over one hundred hours of produced television credits, on such series as Stargate: Atlantis, The Listener, Frankie Drake, My Babysitter’s a Vampire, Mr. Young, Berenstain Bears, and Total Drama Island.
Ken is also the co-creator/showrunner of award winning multi- cam sitcom, The Stanley Dynamic, which enjoyed a run of 52 half-hour episodes
Along with his Emmy nomination, Ken has also been nominated for a Canadian Screen Award, two Canadian Screenwriter awards, and two Canadian Comedy awards. Ken was co-writer on a Leo Award winning episode of Mr. Young.
