SUMMARY
IMAX Corporation is seeking a Computer Programmer with proficiency in Python, C, C++ and Perl in addition to
strong scripting skills (bash, borne, csh, etc.) to produce and maintain software solutions and tools
tools to support to high-profile film projects.
This is a full-time contract position for a period of two to three months.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, implement and support various production software tools using a range of languages, tools and third-party applications
Document, test and debug tools to ensure they meets requirements
Design and implement solutions in support of the current production workflow
Collaborate with artists and technical directors in determining software and pipeline needs of current and future productions
Interact with the IT Department with respect to operating, file, and network systems’ issues
Write clear documentation for tools/scripts
Provide direct technical support to productions including participating in the production of documentation, training materials, tutorials for both artists and production staff
REQUIREMENTS
Experience with developing tools multi-platform production environments including Linux, Windows and OSX.
At least 3 years production software experience.
In-depth experience with MySQL database.
Image processing knowledge preferred.
Experience of working a film/video post-production environment preferred.
Ability to work over-time, evenings and weekends.
Demonstrated ability to work under a tight schedule and meet deadlines.
Thorough knowledge of Python, C, C++ and Perl
Experience developing for Maya in both C++ and Python
Good written and verbal communications skills
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
