Layout Supervisor, for a 3D video game inspired series show for teens.
Requirements/Skills:
- Organize, prioritize and assign shots and tasks to your team and respond to various requests regarding work at various stages of completion
- Manage the workflow both in and out of your department
- Advise on layout problems before they happen and as they happen
- Create required quotas of finished shot layouts per week on professional grade animated productions
- Required to check in with Directors, review notes and instruction regularly
- Post completed work internally and communicate progress to managers and other departments
- Set up scene files for render farm
- 3 years of previous show/Series experience required
Qualities and Qualifications:
- Expert knowledge in Maya, 3D background a must
- Ability to work fast and efficiently applying industry standard techniques
- Ability to problem solve independently when required
- Good knowledge of cinematic camera is essential
- Understanding traditional animation aesthetic an asset
- Basic posing skills and an ability to create reference animation where
required. - Ability to communicate well with directors and other team members
- Good sense of timing and staging
- Fun, trustworthy and chill

Lead Animators, for a 3D video game inspired series show for teens.
Reporting to the Producer & Creative Director, the Lead Animator acts as liaison to the animators, to ensure that animation sequences are of the highest possible quality and are consistent across the production. The Lead Animators will produce animation sequences unique to the project as well as be responsible for her/his own assigned scenes, if required. The Lead Animator is also expected to provide positive feedback, mentorship and tutoring to the animators.
Requirements/Skills:
Artistic:
- Strong abilities in traditional animation skills and principles
- Natural sense of human and non-human movement, timing, weight and balance and the ability to use this to bring characters to life
- Understanding of timing and how it applies to animated characters
- Fanatical attention to detail
- Fun, trustworthy and chill
Performance Management:
- Supervise animation sequences within the production.
- Act as liaison between Creative Director, Director/Producer and animators, to ensure sequences of the highest possible quality.
- Ability to communicate creative and technical directives clearly and concisely
- Ability to mentor and teach members of the team
- Ability to resolve differences fairly and quickly
Production:
- Collaborate with directors and supervisors on animation development during pre-production
- Prioritize the team’s assigned work with respect to deadlines
- Dependable, able to anticipate the needs of the project and team
- Ability to problem solve and share solutions
- Willingness to accept direction and be open to changes from animation supervisors
- Minimum two years industry experience, preferably with experience mentoring and tutoring junior animators
Technical:
- Professionally conversant with Maya
- Be active in remaining current and up to date with software
Planning:
- Ability to work independently to manage unit’s workflow and deadlines
- Track own shot assignments; report shot status to producer and animation supervisor
- Manage unit’s organization of work files
- Must be able to handle pressure and juggle multiple projects.
- Need to be efficient, reliable and self motivated with minimal supervision

- Fanatical attention to detail
Production:
- Able to work cooperatively within a creative team environment
- Dependable, able to anticipate the needs of the project and team
- Able to problem solve and share solutions
- Willing to accept direction and be open to changes from Animation Supervisors
- Minimum 6 months to 1 year professional industry experience as an Animator (junior positions); minimum two years industry experience (intermediate to senior positions), preferably with series production
Technical:
- Professionally conversant with Maya
