Well, this is interesting. Christian Potenza’s ANIMATION NATION ARMY is doing an exercise in Crowdsourcing. No money req’d. From his YouTube channel:
“Well folks, here it is. THE ANIMATION NATION CARTOON PROJECT – OPERATION: Lets Make A Wicked Cartoon! This is how it will work.
Phase 1 – upload a video response to this video with your cartoon idea. After 2 weeks, the video response with the most “Likes” will be the winning idea. I will announce the winner and then we will move on to the second phase.
Phase 2 – We develop a scipt.
Phase 3 – We design the characters.
Phase 4 – We audition myself and other voice actors for the different roles and you, The Animation Nation Army, will vote on who gets to play what role.
I will keep you up to date as we move through the different stages. Remeber, you need to upload a video response to THIS video in order to be considered. Let’s do this ANIMATION NATION ARMY! Let’s make a wicked Cartoon!”
So far 7 video responses and counting. I’m curious to see how this plays out. My first instinct is to run far far away, but seeing as the model for getting cartoon ideas launched in Canada is tricky at best and at worst, broken, Christian Potenza might be onto something. He has a following, and he’s not afraid to use it.
